HAYWARD, CALIF. – Danielle McCormick and Chrisalyn Johnson each set school records for Alaska Anchorage at the Mike Fanelli Classic Saturday.
McCormick won the 800 and lowered her own school record with a time of 2:05.65, also a provisionally qualifying mark. She ran her previous best mark of 2:06.17 in 2018.
Johnson won the long jump with a school-record and provisional qualifying mark of 19-2.5. The previous school record of 18-10.5 was set by Karolin Anders in 2014.
Elena Cano placed fourth in the women's long jump (17-8), and David Sramek was fourth in the men's (22-4.5).
Felix Kemboi finished third in the mile with a time of 4:11.23 while teammate Faisal Ibrahim was 10th (4:27.44).
Nancy Jeptoo was the top UAA finisher in the women's mile finishing fifth (4:58.47).
Chris Brake placed seventh in the long jump (21-8).
Ruth Cvancara ran a provisional time of 2:11.43 to finish 11th in the 800.
Alaska Anchorage will return to California for a variety of meets April 18-20.
