Aniteye leads Seawolves at Long Beach

LONG BEACH, CALIF. – Vanessa Aniteye led the Alaska Anchorage track and field teams with a sixth place finish in the 400 (54.99) at the Beach Invitational host by Long Beach State Saturday.

The men's 4x100 relay of Enrique Campbell, Oshane Hylton, David Sramek and Chris Brake finished ninth with a time of 41.90.

Nancy Jeptoo was the top finisher for the Seawolves in the women's 1,500 with a time of 4:36.26.

Drew Johnson led UAA in the men's 1,500 placing 21st (3:57.06) with teammate Felix Kemboi in 24th (3:58.16).

Elena Cano tied her personal best in the 100 hurdles finishing 43rd (14.77).

Alaska Anchorage will participate in the GNAC Multi-Event Championships April 29-30 in Ellensburg, Wash.
