Top-5 Squads
The UAA women are ranked in the top-five in five different events by USTFCCCA. The Seawolves are second in the 1,500, third in the 800, fourth in the 5,000 and fourth in the 10,000.
School-Records Broken
The Seawolves broke five school records at a pair of meets in California. David Sramek elevated his own record in the pole vault with a clearance of 15-1. Danielle McCormick lowered her school record in the 800 to 2:05.00, and Chrisalyn Johnson extended her mark in the long jump to 19-5.25. Caroline Kurgat lowered her school records in the 1,500 (4:19.48) and 5,000 (15:28.46).
Top-20
UAA has six student-athletes and one relay ranked in the top-20 in NCAA Div. II this season. Caroline Kurgat has automatically qualified in the 1,500, 5,000 and 10,000. She is ranked first in the 5,000 (15:40.45) and the 10,000 (32:08.09) and is second in the 1,500 (4:19.48). Danielle McCormick is ranked third and is automatically qualified for the 800 (2:05.00). Ruth Cvancara is ranked 14th in the 800 (2:10.27), and Vanessa Aniteye is 15th in the 400 (54.82). Chrisalyn Johnson is ranked 12th in the triple jump (40-1.5) and 15th in the long jump (19-5.25). Edwin Kangogo is ranked fifth in the steeplechase (8:56.08), and the women's 4x400 relay is 10th (3:44.20).

Alaska Anchorage will compete in the GNAC Championships hosted by Western Oregon May 23-25.
