Seawolves fall in Marquette

MARQUETTE, MICH. – Eric Sinclair, Taylor Lantz and Rylee St. Onge each scored for Alaska Anchorage in a 6-3 loss at Northern Michigan Saturday.

The Wildcats jumped out to a 2-0 lead after scoring a power-play goal at 16:54 of the first period and an even-strength goal at 6:27 of the second.

Eric Sinclair fired a shot that was redirected on its way to the net for his second goal of the season for the Seawolves. Trey deGraaf and Jared Nash each assisted on the goal at 10:57 of the second period.

Taylor Lantz tied the game at 2-2 after his shot found the net two minutes into the third period. Luc Brown and Troy Robillard each assisted on the play.

The Wildcats then scored four straight goals, including a hat-trick from Vincent deMay.

Rylee St. Onge scored the final goal of the game on the powerplay for UAA with under 90 seconds remaining. Luc Brown tallied his second assist of the game, while Tomi Hiekkavirta recorded his 10th assists of the season.

Kristian Stead made 19 saves and gave up six goals before being replaced by Kris Carlson who finished with five saves.

UAA out-shot NMU 36-30, and the Seawolves finished 1-for-8 on the powerplay. NMU was 1-for-4 on the man-advantage.

Alaska Anchorage will host Alabama-Huntsville Jan. 17-18.
