ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – Zach Nazzarett scored a pair of goals to lead the University of Alaska Anchorage to a 5-1 win over Alabama Huntsville Friday.
The Seawolves had three players, Jared Nash, Zach Court and Alex Frye, record two assists.
UAA scored a trio of goals in the opening period. Nicks Wicks opened the scoring with his fifth goal of the season at 5:28, and Trey deGraaf tallied his fourth of the season at 8:41. Zach Nazzarett recorded the final goal of the period at 14:59.
After a scoreless second period, the third period featured a pair of early goals, one from each team.
Tanner Schachle lit the lamp for his six goal of the season at 2:18, but Austin Beaulieu answered with a Charger goal just 18 seconds later.
Zach Nazzarett concluded the scoring with this fourth goal of the season, and second of the game, at 7:25.
Kris Carlson made 35 saves for UAA.
UAA finished with a season-high 36 shots on goal, and UAH had 36. Both squads were scoreless (0-4) on the powerplay.
The Seawolves and Chargers will close the weekend series Saturday at 5 pm.
