Seawolves take five of six points from Chargers

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – Alaska Anchorage earned two points in the WCHA standings with a 2-2 tie over Alabama Huntsville Saturday.

After 30 minutes of scoreless hockey, Luc Brown fired a one-timer past Mark Sinclair at 12:07 of the second period. Tomi Hiekkavirta and Rylee St. Onge each assisted on the 5-on-3 goal.

The Chargers evened the score with a goal from Lucas Bahn at 14:01.

UAH took the lead after Josh Latta scored with 12 seconds remaining in the second period.

The Seawolves were a man-down after a five-minute major penalty to start the third period when Alex Frye scored a breakaway goal short-handed at 2:05.

After a scoreless first overtime, Tanner Schachle scored in the 3-on-3 overtime to give the Seawolves the second point. UAA earned five of six points against UAH on the weekend.

Brandon Perrone made 20 saves in his first career start for the Seawolves.

The Seawolves out-shot the Chargers 24-22 and finished 1-for-4 on the powerplay. Huntsville finished 0-for-5.

Alaska Anchorage will play at Lake Superior State Jan. 24-25.
