TEMPE, ARIZ. – Alaska Anchorage got a pair of goals from freshmen Zach Nazzarett and Nick Wicks but Arizona State defeated the Seawolves 5-2 Saturday.
The Sun Devils got a 2-0 lead with goals at 6:15 and 15:14 of the first period.
Zach Nazzarett put the Seawolves on the board with his seventh goal of the season at 18:44 of the first. Alex Frye and Luc Brown each assisted on the goal.
PJ Marrocco pushed the ASU led to 3-1 with a goal at 9:41 of the second, before Nick Wicks scored his sixth goal of the season at 17:24.
Brinson Pasichnuk scored power-play goals at 19:55 of the second and 6:45 of the third to record a hat-trick.
UAA led 34-23 and finished 0-for-6 on the powerplay. ASU finished 2-for-3 on the man-advantage.
Kris Carlson finished with 18 saves for UAA.
Alaska Anchorage will host Bemidji State Feb. 21-22.
