Vera Pluharova swept the Great Northwest Athletic Conference offensive and defensive player-of-the-week awards, announced by the league office.
A right-side hitter, Stephens powered the Seawolves (14-5, 7-0 GNAC) to home victories over No. 25 Central Washington and Northwest Nazarene with 5.13 kills per set on .391 hitting, four total aces and 6.13 points per set. The Palmer (Colony HS) product tied her career-high with 26 kills on .357 hitting, along with three aces and four block assists in Thursday's 3-2 (15-10) win over CWU. She followed Saturday with 15 kills on .452 hitting and three total blocks in Saturday's sweep of NNU, helping UAA register the best team hitting pct. (.400) in a GNAC match this year and the program's best in a GNAC match since 2015. This marks Stephens's second GNAC offensive player-of-the-week honor this season and the seventh of her career.

Vera Pluharova earned her third career GNAC defensive player-of-the-week nod with 13 total blocks (1.63 per set) against the Wildcats and Nighthawks. The middle blocker from Nechanice, Czech Republic, registered a UAA season-best nine total blocks – including two solos – to help hold CWU to .101 hitting in Thursday's win, while tying her career high with four digs. She added four total blocks, including a solo, in Saturday's sweep of NNU. Pluharova put up her huge defensive numbers while remaining efficient offensively, registering seven kills in each match on combined .480 hitting.
