ANCHORAGE – A balanced scoring effort was not enough for 11th-ranked Alaska Anchorage as visiting Montana State Billings used a big rebounding edge to earn a 68-61 women's basketball victory Thursday at the Alaska Airlines Center.

Ranked atop the latest D2SIDA West Region poll, the Seawolves (5-1, 0-1 Great Northwest Athletic Conference) were led by 10 points and six rebounds from senior forward Vishe' Rabb, but the hosts were hurt by foul trouble and a 46-32 disadvantage on the boards.

The Yellowjackets (8-1, 1-0) – ranked No. 5 in the D2SIDA West poll – were led by 12 points and 11 rebounds from forward Dyauni Boyce, while guard Kortney Nelson contributed 12 points, seven rebounds and three assists.

Trying to avenge last season's series sweep by MSUB, UAA could not get going out of the gate, falling behind 16-5 after seven minutes and trailing by 17 twice late in the first half.

The Seawolves finally got rolling with three minutes to play in the third quarter, using an 8-0 run to make it 52-46 with 10 minutes left. Junior guard Hayley Berfield had four of her six points during the surge, but the Yellowjackets answered with a 9-2 run over the first three minutes of the fourth quarter to pull away.

Guards Jazzpher Evans and Elaina Mack scored nine points each for UAA, while sophomore forward Kate Robertson finished with eight points on 4-of-5 shooting, four rebounds, two assists and two steals.
