ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – The University of Alaska Fairbanks had three players record multiple points in a 4-0 win over the University of Alaska Anchorage in game three of the Alaska Airlines Governor's Cup Friday.
Simon Falk opened the scoring with an even-strength goal at 8:38 of the opening period, and Chase Dubois scored on the powerplay to give the Nanooks a 2-0 lead at the first intermission.
After a scoreless second period, Jonny Sorenson scored the second UAF power-play goal at 1:16 of the third period.
The Seawolves pulled goalie Joey Lamoreaux for the extra skater with four minutes remaining, but it was the Nanooks who found the net when T. J. Lloyd's shot was redirected in at 18:06 of the third period.
Lamoreaux finished with 19 saves for UAA, while Matt Radomsky made 20 saves in the shutout win for UAF.
The Nanooks scored on both of their power-play opportunities and held the Seawolves scoreless on all six chances.
UAF finished with a slim 23-20 edge in shots.
The two teams will close out the weekend series Saturday at 6:07 pm.
