Alaska Anchorage will return from the holiday break with four games on the east coast starting with a two-game series at No. 13 UMass Lowell Jan. 30-31.

Alaska Anchorage and UMass Lowell will face off for the first time in nearly 20 years this weekend. The series is tied 5-5-0. The Seawolves have won five of the last seven meetings, but the River Hawks lead 2-1-0 in games played in Lowell.

UMass Lowell is ranked No. 13 in both college hockey polls this week. UAA is 1-1-0 this season against ranked opponents. Alaska Anchorage split with No. 14 Western Michigan to start the year. The Seawolves won the first game 3-1, before falling 4-1 in game two.
Familiar Foe
Matt Allen and
Matt Kinash both transferred from UMass Lowell. Allen played eight games for the River Hawks scoring one goal and three assists from 2020-22. He has scored one goal and two assists in 14 games this season for UAA. Kinash appeared in two games for UMass Lowell during the 2020-21 season. He has one assist in 13 games this season for UAA.

Rare Sweep
Last weekend's sweep by Alaska Fairbanks is the first sweep by an opponent at the Seawolf Sports Complex since 2019. Bowling Green swept Alaska Anchorage 3-1, 3-0 Nov. 15-16.
