#8 Vikings race past #25 Seawolves in Bellingham

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Senior forward Vishe' Rabb scored a team-high 13 points for Alaska Anchorage, but host Western Washington dominated in an NCAA Div. II top-25 women's basketball contest at Carver Gymnasium, earning a 104-51 victory.

The 25th-ranked Seawolves (9-3, 1-2 Great Northwest Athletic Conference) also got nine points from sophomore guard Jazzpher Evans as they suffered the sixth-worst loss in program history and the third-most lopsided against a fellow D-II opponent.

The 8th-ranked Vikings (8-1, 2-0) got 18 points, 12 rebounds, six assists and three blocks from center Brooke Walling and 13 points and 12 rebounds from reserve Truitt Reilly as they tied their program's single-game scoring record.

WWU won the rebounding battle 45-26 and racked up 31 assists, outshooting UAA .661 (41 of 62) to .302 (19 of 63).

Senior guard Jahnna Hajdukovich finished with seven points and a team-high five rebounds for UAA, which also saw the respective season and career debuts of sophomore guard Malie Marfil (2 points, 2 rebounds, one assist) and sophomore center Natalia Beaumont (2 blocks).

The Seawolves look to rebound Saturday when they visit Simon Fraser in Burnaby, British Columbia, for a noon AST tip. Surf to GoSeawolves.com for live video and stats links.
