Nicole Blue had a match-high 17 kills, but host Northwest Nazarene overcame three late-set deficits Thursday to claim a 23-25, 23-25, 27-25, 25-20, 15-9 volleyball victory at the Johnson Sports Center.
The Seawolves (15-16, 7-9 Great Northwest Athletic Conference) also got seven total blocks and a career-high-tying 13 kills from junior middle blocker
Isabel Evans as their three-match winning streak was snapped.
The Nighthawks (11-12, 7-8) were led by 14 kills and four block assists from Miya Koch as they outhit the visitors .168 to .137, boosted by a .417 to .136 advantage in the fifth set.
After claiming a four-set win over NNU in the first meeting Oct. 14 in Anchorage, UAA came out strong again, taking the first two frames on set-point kills by Blue.
The Seawolves forged a 24-21 lead in the third and took a 25-24 edge on another kill by Blue, but the Nighthawks repelled four match points and took the set on a kill by Londyn Giles.
NNU erased a 20-17 fourth-set deficit with the final eight points to send it the distance, and finished the comeback by outscoring UAA 10-1 over the final 11 rallies in the fifth.
Blue also collected 17 digs to record her 10th double-double of the season, while junior outside hitter
Bethany Tuchardt tallied 11 kills and five total blocks.

Makana Eleneki led UAA with 29 assists, and sophomore defensive specialist
Madison Galloway had 17 digs.
The Seawolves complete their road schedule Saturday (6 p.m. AST) match at No. 19 Central Washington, before finishing the season with a Nov. 16 'senior night' showdown against rival Alaska Fairbanks at the Alaska Airlines Center.
