Hockey heads to Ledyard Classic

Alaska Anchorage will head to the Granite State for a pair of games in the Ledyard Classic hosted by Dartmouth. Alaska Anchorage will face No. 16 Dartmouth Saturday, Dec. 28 and either No. 7 Providence or Northeastern Sunday, Dec. 29. 

Series
Alaska Anchorage is undefeated against Dartmouth winning the only meeting between the two schools 8-1 in Anchorage in 1990. 
Alaska Anchorage is 1-1-0 all-time against Northeastern, winning the first game 5-3 in Anchorage in 2001 and losing the second 4-2 in Anchorage in 2008. 
Alaska Anchorage is 1-6-0 all-time against Providence, with the one win (4-0) coming the last time the two schools met in 2024. 

Coach Shasby
Head coach Matt Shasby enters his third season leading the Seawolves. The Anchorage, native has a 27-48-6 mark as the UAA bench boss. Shasby will be assisted this season by Chris Kamal, Aaron McPheters and Vincent Pietrangelo

Freshman Phenom
Freshman Dimitry Kebreau leads the team in both assists (11) and points (15). The Rock Spring, Md., native scored one goal and added two assists against Augustana. 

First Point
Freshman Ethan Warrener recorded his first point with an assist on Max Helgeson's game-tying goal against Augustana on Dec. 12. 

Freshmen Class
The freshman class leads the team with 17 goals and 37 points. 

Second Period
Alaska Anchorage scored all four of its goals against Augustana in the second period. The Seawolves are 3-0-1 this season when leading after the second period and 0-9-0 when trailing after the second period. 

Saturday Success
Alaska Anchorage is 3-3-2 in Saturday games and 1-9-1 on all other days of the week. 

Penalty Kill
The Seawolves are 4-2-2 this season when it holds its opponents scoreless on the powerplay and 0-10-1 when their opponents score on the powerplay. 

Last Time Out
Alaska Anchorage posted a 2-2 tie and lost 3-2 in overtime at home to Augustana  Dec. 12-13.
