Funtek scores first goal in loss

NORTH ANDOVER, MASS. – Pavol Funtek scored his first career goal for Alaska Anchorage in a 4-2 loss at Merrimack Friday.

After a scoreless first period, Funtek fired a long shot from the blue line past Ryan Keyes at 6:22 of the first period. Adam Parsons and Matt Johnson assisted on the goal.

The Warriors responded by scoring four straight goals, two each by David Sacco and Michael Emerson.  

Sacco scored at 8:00 and 18:37 of the second period, and Emerson added goals at 10:53 of the second period and 9:09 of the third period.

Aiden Westin scored the Seawolve's second goal of the game on the powerplay when he redirected a shot by Dylan Contreras at 18:28 of the third period. Maximillion Helgeson collected an assist on the play.

The Seawolves finished with a 29-27 edge in shots and finished 1-for-4 on the powerplay. The Warriors were held scoreless on both of their powerplay opportunities.

Tyler Krivtsov made 23 saves and allowed four goal in net for UAA.

Alaska Anchorage and Merrimack will face-off again Saturday.
