RENO, NEV. – Joshua Caleb of the University of Alaska Anchorage continued his record setting track and field season by running a time of 20.86 in the 200, the fastest time in the world this year, at the Silver & Blue Invitational Saturday.
His time is the fastest in the NCAA this season, regardless of division, and ranks seventh all-time in Div. II history. A native of Okrika, Nigeria, his time ranks second all-time in Africa U20 history and second all-time among Nigerian U20. His time establish new GNAC and UAA records.
Caleb ran on the UAA 4x400 relay that finished second in a time of 3:16.02, the fourth-fastest time in school history.
Max Kremser ran 22.05 to finish eighth in the 200, seventh-best all-time at UAA.
Ryann Smith ran a GNAC-leading time of 10:27.70 in the 3,000.
George Payne won the men's 3,000 in 9:17.91.
Jessica Chisar finished fifth in the 400 in 58.02, the sixth-fastest time in school history.
Peyton George ran 50.95 to finish eighth in the 400.
The women's 4x400 relay finished ninth in 4:04.69.
Alaska Anchorage will compete at the UW Preview Jan. 18.
