ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – Ethan Warrener and Oren Shtrom each scored for the University of Alaska Anchorage in a 9-2 loss to Bemidji State in the season opener for both schools Friday night.
Patrik Satosaari opened the scoring with a goal at 7:01 of the first period for Bemidji State.
The Beavers scored four straight goals in the second period before Ethan Warrener scored for the Seawolves at 18:20 of the second period. He was assisted by Karter McNarland and Ryan Johnson.
Ryan Johnson has now recorded a point in 11-straight games dating back to Jan. 11, 2025.
Luke Roelofs scored at 18:34 of the second period for BSU and the Beavers added three more goals in the third period.
Oren Shtrom scored the final goal of the game at 12:27 of the third thanks to an assist from Judah Makway.
BSU out-shot UAA 31-29. The Beavers finished 1-for-2 on the powerplay and held UAA 0-for-4.
Greg Orosz started the game and allowed four goals before he was replaced by Tyler Krivtsov who allowed five goals over the final 33 minutes.
UAA and BSU will close out the series Saturday at 5 pm.
