Busy week ahead for UAA hockey

Alaska Anchorage will play four games this week, with games at Stonehill Tuesday, Brown Wednesday and Holy Cross Thursday and Sunday.  

Series
Alaska Anchorage is undefeated against all three of this week's opponents. They are 3-0 all-time against Stonehill, 2-0-1 against Brown and 1-0-0 against Holy Cross. 

Coach Shasby
Head coach Matt Shasby enters his fourth season leading the Seawolves. The Anchorage, native has a 31-65-8 mark as the UAA bench boss. 
Chris Kamal and Aaron McPheters return as assistant coaches for the Seawolves, while Anchorage native Evan Trupp has joined the staff as an assistant coach.  

Multi-Point Game
Senior defenseman Logan Acheson recorded a pair of assists in last week's win at Bentley. The Edmonton, Alberta, native has 12 points (three goals, nine assists) in 77 career games. 

Shorty
Freshman Tye Spencer scored his first career goal short-handed in last week's win at Bentley. The goal was the first short-handed goal since Max Helgeson scored a short-handed goal against Stonehill on March 2, 2024. 

Scoring Streak
Sophomore Ryan Johnson tallied a point in both games last week at Bentley. The Calgary, Alberta, native scored the Seawolves lone goal in Friday's loss and he followed up with an assist on Conor Cole's power-play goal to open the scoring in Saturday's win. Johnson has 29 points (12 goals, 17 assists) in 40 career games.

First Points
Freshmen Camden Shasby (assist), Tye Spencer (goal), Judah Makway (goal) and junior David Jesus (assist) each tallied their first career point last week at Bentley.

Special Teams
UAA is 2-2-0 this season when it scores on the powerplay and 0-4-0 when it doesn't. The Seawolves are 2-1-0 when it holds its opponents scoreless on the powerplay and 0-5-0 when its opponents score on the man-advantage. 

Early Lead
Alaska Anchorage scored first in both games last week at Bentley. All three of the Falcon's goals in the series were scored in the third period. 

Season High
Alaska Anchorage tallied a season-high 30 shots in last week's loss at Bentley. 

Last Time Out
Alaska Anchorage split a pair of games at Bentley last week dropping the first game 2-1 in overtime and winning the second game 3-2.      

Looking Ahead
Alaska Anchorage will host Stonehill for a pair of games Dec. 5-6.
