PROVIDENCE, RI – Tye Spencer and Dylan Contreras each scored for Alaska Anchorage in a 5-2 loss at Brown Wednesday.
The Seawolves scored first for the fourth straight game. Tanyon Bajzer fired a shot on net that was stopped by Brown goalie Freddie Halyk, but Tye Spencer scored on the rebound to give the Seawolves the early lead at 15:24 of the first period.
Matthew Desiderio tied the game for the Bears when he scored with a long shot at 17:19.
Brown took its first lead of the game at 3:06 of the second period when Charlie Gollob scored with a quick shot off the faceoff.
Ben Poitras pushed Browns lead to 3-1 with a goal less than one minute into the third period.
Dylan Contreras scored his first goal of the season at 7:57 of the third when he scored off an excellent cross ice pass from Oren Shtrom. Logan Acheson collected his fourth assist of the season on the power-play goal.
Ashton Bynum scored at 11:13 with a wrister from the top of the circle, and Charlie Gollob scored an empty-net goal for his second goal of the game at 19:37.
UAA led 37-33 in shots. The Seawolves finished 1-for-3 on the powerplay and held the Bears 0-for-3 on the man-advantage.
Tyler Krivtsov made 28 saves for Alaska Anchorage.
Alaska Anchorage will play its third game in three days Thursday when it takes on Holy Cross.
