KENOSHA, WIS. – John Peckham and Ty Elliott each earned All-American honors for the University of Alaska Anchorage at the NCAA Div. II Cross Country National Championships Saturday.
The Seawolves finished 16th out of 34 teams with 456 points.
John Peckham capped his collegiate cross country career with a 25th-place finish in 30:27.
Ty Elliott covered the 10-kilometer course in 30:43 to finish 38th.
Peckham and Elliott were the top-two finishers amonst all GNAC competitors in the men's race.
"These guys just kept finding magic this season," said associate head coach Chas Davis. "They're going to remember this as something truly worthwhile and rewarding the rest of their lives. And this season is going to be a highlight of my career. These guys are to realize through the coming years how important this experience was and the lessons they learned throughout the last few months together are going to guide them on to things far more important than just running. What a special season."
Ben Browning was 129th (32:02), Ethan Ackroyd 151st (32:13) and Matt Rongitsch 181st (32:30) to complete the scoring for UAA.
Anthony Porter was 217th (33:00), and Samuel Roy was 243rd (33:45).
This concludes the UAA cross country season, and the Seawolves will turn their focus to indoor track and field.
