FAIRBANKS, ALASKA – Matt Hubbard scored four goals for the University of Alaska Fairbanks in a 5-1 win over the University of Alaska Anchorage in game five of the Alaska Airlines Governor's Cup Saturday.
The Nanooks lead the series 3-2.
Matt Hubbard scored his first goal of the game through the five-hole of UAA goaltender Greg Orosz 34 seconds into the first period.
Broten Sabo scored at 6:13 before Matt Hubbard notched his second goal at 8:32.
UAA's Max Helgeson scored the lone goal of the second period on the powerplay at 13:13 with an assist from Ryan Johnson.
Matt Hubbard completed the hat trick with a power-play goal at 12:18, and added an empty-net goal at 18:02.
Shots finished nearly even with UAF leading 35-33.
Greg Orosz finished with four saves on seven shots. Tyler Krivtsov made 25 saves on 26 shots of relief duty.
UAA and UAF will close the season series Feb. 15th in Fairbanks.
