STORRS, CONN. – Joey Muldowney scored a hat trick to lead No. 11 UConn to a 5-2 win over Alaska Anchorage Wednesday.
UAA's Ryan Johnson extended his point streak to six games. He has scored two goals and five assists during the streak.
Max Helgeson recorded an assist for his fifth point in his last three games for the Seawolves.
The Huskies scored at 1:44, 11:44 and 18:26 of the first period to take a 3-0 into the first intermission.
The Seawolves battled back scoring twice in the middle frame.
Ryan Johnson sent a pass from behind the net to Max Helgeson who scored on the doorstep at 5:35.
Dimitry Kebreau recorded his team-leading 21st point of the season when he sent a pass to a trailing Joey Potter who fired a shot top shelf for his second goal of the season at 17:52.
Joey Muldowny, who scored a short-handed goal in the first period, added a power-play goal at 2:54 of the third and an empty-net goal at 17:26.
Tyler Krivtsov finished with 27 saves for UAA.
UConn out-shot UAA 32-29.
The Seawolves were scoreless on the powerplay (0-4), and the Huskies finished 1-for-2.
UAA will play at LIU Friday and Saturday.
