EAST MEADOW, N.Y. – Freshman Ryan Johnson extended his point streak to seven games for Alaska Anchorage in a 6-1 loss at Long Island Friday.
Isaiah Fox opened the scoring for the Sharks with a goal at 16:45 of the first period, but the Seawolves responded with a goal of their own 22 seconds later.
Will Schimek and Ryan Johnson connected with Max Helgeson who scored his eighth goal of the season.
Ryan Johnson has scored two goals and six assists over his last seven games. He is tied for the team lead with 21 points (11 goals, 10 assists).
The Sharks added a second goal in the first, one goal in the second and three in the third.
LIU finished with a 45-12 edge in shots. The Sharks finished 2-for-5 on the powerplay and held the Seawolves scoreless on their three chances.
Greg Orosz made 39 saves for UAA.
The Seawolves and Sharks will close out the season series Saturday.
