Hockey closes regular season at UAF

Alaska Anchorage will close out the regular season with games seven and eight against Alaska Fairbanks in The Alaska Airlines Governor's Cup this weekend in Fairbanks.  

Series
Alaska Anchorage leads the all-time series with Alaska Fairbanks 94-84-16, but trails the series in Fairbanks 40-48-8.  

Alaska Airlines Governor's Cup
Alaska Fairbanks has claimed this years Alaska Airlines Governor's Cup as they lead this year's series 14-4. The winner of the Alaska Airlines Governor's Cup is determined by a point system with a team earning three points for a win in regulation, two points for a win in overtime or a shootout and one point for a loss in overtime or a shootout. 

Coach Shasby
Head coach Matt Shasby enters his fourth season leading the Seawolves. The Anchorage, native has a 34-80-9 mark as the UAA bench boss. 
Chris Kamal and Aaron McPheters return as assistant coaches for the Seawolves, while Anchorage native Evan Trupp has joined the staff as an assistant coach.   
Multi-Points
Junior Karter McNarland tallied a pair of assists in last Friday's loss to Alaska Fairbanks for his fourth multi-point game of the season, most on the team this season. The native of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan leads the team in both assists (15) and points (19). 

Point Streak
Freshman Tye Spencer is riding a four-game point streak. The native of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan has scored two goals and three assists during his streak. He leads the team with seven goals and ranks second in points with 11. 

First Goal
Junior David Jesus scored his first goal of the season last week against Alaska Fairbanks. The native of Toronto, Ontario has four points this season (one goal, three assists).  

Century Mark
Senior Logan Acheson will play in his 100th career game at Alaska Fairbanks this weekend. The native of Edmonton, Alberta has one goal, which came against UAF, and eight assists for nine points this season. He has 19 career points (four goals, 15 assists).  

Last Time Out
Alaska Anchorage dropped both of its games at home last week to Alaska Fairbanks 4-3 and 6-2.

Alaska Anchorage will head to Missouri for the inaugural United Collegiate Hockey Cup March 5-7.
