BELLINGHAM, WASH. – Ryann Smith of the University of Alaska Anchorage ran 4:28.72 to win the 1,500 at the Ralph Verncchir Invite Saturday. Her time of 4:28.72 ranks fifth all-time in school history.
Tyler Drake finished second in the long jump (6.95/22-9.75) and third in the 110 hurdles (15.24). His long jump mark ranks sixth all-time at UAA.
The women's 4x400 team of Liv Heite, Jessica Chisar, Gracie Miotke and Ryann Smith finished second in 3:53.15, the ninth-fastest time in school history.
In the 100 hurdles, Liv Heite finished third (14.63), McKinley Eddington sixth (15.83) and Gracie Miotke seventh (16.06).
Eric Bushnell chucked the discus 47.77/156-8, the second furthest throw in school history, to finish fourth.
Seth Cupper finished third in the long jump (6.70/21-11.75), and Lilli Lindner was fourth in the 1,500 (4:39.38).
Vivien Liessfeld finished fourth in the high jump (1.50/4-11) and 10th in the javelin (37.33/122-5).
Riday Jana and Jason Lorig finished fourth (10.82) and eighth (10.91) in the 100.
The men's 4x100 finished fourth in 42.11.
Jessica Chisar was eighth in the 400 in 57.02, the 10th fastest time in school history.
Gracie Miotke and McKinley Eddington finished eighth (1:07.51) and 10th (1:08.77) in the 400 hurdles.
Sarah Dittman was 14th in the javelin with a throw of 32.05/105-2, the seventh farthest throw in school history.
Both the men and women finished sixth in the team standings.
UAA will compete in the GNAC Multi-Event Championships April 27-28.
