BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (Sept. 2) - Brianne Halling and Heather Riter each notched eight kills, but it wasn't enough as No. 8 Cal State-Bakersfield dispatched the Seawolf volleyball team 15-8, 15-4, 15-5 at the Roadrunner Classic today.
The loss drops the Seawolves to 3-6 on the season with another match yet to play today. UAA takes on No. 15 North Dakota State at 5:30 p.m. PDT. Bakersfield, which was led by Amy Wade's 16 kills, improved to 5-0.
The Roadrunners outhit the Seawolves .345 to .133 and registered 46 digs to UAA's 43.
UAA returns home to host its own UAA Invitational, Sept. 7-9 at the UAA Sports Center. Visiting teams are Central Washington, Harding (Ark.) University, and North Alabama.
