Jordan scores 32 in loss

LACEY, Wash. (Feb. 9) - Center Bell Jordan put up the Seawolves' highest point total in seven years, but it wasn't enough to save the UAA women's basketball team from a 76-54 loss to Saint Martin's tonight.

Jordan scored 32 for UAA (5-17, 1-12 GNAC) and pulled down 8 rebounds. But Saint Martin's (9-12, 4-9) got four players into double figures, led by Alana Erickson's 22 points and 11 rebounds.

Jordan, a senior from Stockton, Calif., shot 14 for 23 from the floor but converted only 4 of her 11 free throws. The 32 points were the most since Allegra Stoetzel scored that many Jan. 26, 1995, and it was the first 30-plus-point game for a Seawolf since Stacie Cepin closed out the 1997-98 campaign with 31 against UAF.

Meanwhile, no other Seawolf scored more than 6 points. Freshman forward Jen Stoddard had 8 rebounds and a pair of blocks.

Saint Martin's also got a strong effort from Louise Huezo (18 points, 9 rebounds) as the Saints shot 50 percent (31-62) and won the rebounding battle 41-29.

The Seawolves will remain on the road for games Feb. 14 at Central Washington and Feb. 16 at nationally-ranked Seattle Pacific.
