Glencross named WCHA Offensive Player of Week

MADISON, Wis. (Dec. 15) - UAA forward Curtis Glencross Glencross, who contributed a hat trick and five points in the Seawolves' two-game sweep over defending Western Collegiate Hockey Association champion Colorado College last weekend, has been honored as the Red Baron WCHA Offensive Player of Week for Dec. 15-21.

A 6-1, 190-pound sophomore from Red Deer, Alberta, Glencross' three consecutive goals Dec. 12 -- including the eventual game-winner at 13:32 of the second period -- gave him a rare natural hat trick, as UAA rallied from a 2-0 deficit to win 5-2 over the Tigers.

Glencross also assisted on two UAA goals over the weekend, one in Friday's win and one on teammate John Hopson's game-opening goal on Saturday, Dec. 13, as the Seawolves downed CC 3-1 to complete their first WCHA sweep of the season. The win also extended their winning streak to three games, and improved them to
7-7-2 overall.

Glencross is currently UAA's leading point-producer (9 goals-9 assists--18 points) in 16 games. He is also tied for third in the WCHA scoring race with 8-7--15 totals in 12 league games.

The honor is the second in as many weeks for the Seawolves, as Hopson won the Offensive Player of the Week award for Dec. 8-14.

The Seawolves are off for the holidays and return to action Jan. 9-10 at North Dakota.
