LACEY, Wash. (Jan. 10) - The UAA women's basketball team struggled to find its shooting touch again Saturday in a 61-48 loss to host Saint Martin's here tonight.
The Seawolves (5-8, 0-4 GNAC) dropped their sixth straight game despite 18 points and five steals from Kamie Jo Massey and 10 rebounds from Amber Nasby. Beth Layton led the Saints (5-6, 3-1) with 18 points, while Martina Kartikova had 12 points and 11 rebounds.
UAA trailed just 34-32 at halftime, but shot only 6 for 18 (33 percent) in the second 20 minutes. Tanya Nizich was the only other Seawolf in double figures with 11 points.
The Seawolves return home for a meeting with Central Washington on Thursday, Jan. 15. Tip-off is 7:05 p.m. at the Wells Fargo Sports Complex.
