SEATTLE (Mar. 19) - Dominique Ingram threatened a pair of school records and the Seawolf gymnasts came up with huge performances on vault and floor exercise Saturday, but it wasn't enough against a precise Seattle Pacific squad in a 193.650-191.225 dual loss at Brougham Pavilion.
The Seawolves (9-7) put up the second-best floor score in school history with 48.875 points, aided by Ingram's 9.925 and 9.775s from Mandy Kolosovsky, Tiffany Staton and Jamie Burton. Jessica Portlock also had a solid night for UAA with a 38.400 all-around.
Seattle Pacific's Debra Huss won the all-around title with an SPU school-record 39.225, while Ingram placed second of five with 38.450.
Ingram, a sophomore from nearby Kent, Wash., tied herself for the third-highest floor score ever at UAA, while her vault of 9.875 was No. 4 on the all-time list. Saturday's team accomplishments also included the No. 4 vault score (47.950) and the No. 6 overall score (191.225) in program history.
Despite the loss, the Seawolves ended the dual season with a school-record .563 winning percentage and a school-record-tying nine victories.
UAA will compete against SPU and four other squads next Saturday in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships in Davis, Calif.
