Setter Calli Scott had 27 assists, 11 digs and four aces Friday as the Alaska Anchorage volleyball team scored its first victory under new head coach Chris Green with a 25-12, 25-12, 25-5 rout of Ohio Valley in the first match of the Extended Stay Deluxe Invitational at the Wells Fargo Sports Complex.
The Seawolves (1-1) registered their first three-game sweep since Sept. 1, 2006 over Notre Dame de Namur, also in their own tournament.
Senior outside hitter Rhea Cardwell had eight kills, nine digs and four aces, while sophomore middle blocker Cortney Lundberg had a match-best .500 hitting percentage with five kills and no errors in 10 attack attempts.
OVU (0-1) got four of its seven total kills from middle blocker Alyssa Hildebrand. The Fighting Scots are an NCAA Div. II program from Vienna, W.Va.
Junior libero/defensive specialist Stacie Meisner had a team-best 10 digs, and UAA got nearly perfect hitting from Lundberg, true freshman McKenzie Moss (.500, 4-1-6), senior Jessica Morehouse (1.000, 3-0-3) and redshirt freshman Kayla O'Kelley (.500 (3-0-6).
The Seawolves are back in action tonight at 7 p.m. when they continue round-robin play against Harding (Ark.).
