SAULT STE, MARIE, MICH – Luc Brown scored two goals for Alaska Anchorage who skated to a 3-3 tie at Lake Superior State Saturday. The Lakers collected the second point with a goal in the 3-on-3 overtime.
The Lakers jumped out to a 2-0 lead after scoring goals at 4:16 and 15:55 of the first period.
A trio of freshman would get the Seawolves on the scoreboard with 90 seconds remaining in the first frame as Alex Frye and Zach Nazzarette assisted on a power-play goal by Brayden Camrud, his third of the season.
Camrud then set-up senior Luc Brown for his third goal of the season just 62 seconds into the second period to tie the game 2-2. Marcus Mitchell also collected an assist.
Both teams would score once more in the second period, both on the powerplay.
Ashton Calder scored for LSSU at 4:11, and Luc Brown scored unassisted at 12:23 for his second goal of the night.
UAA finished 2-for-4 on the powerplay, and LSSU was 1-for-3.
The teams would hold each other scoreless for the final period and first overtime.
Pete Veilllette scored 50 seconds into the 3-on-3 overtime for the Lakers.
Lake Superior finished with a slim 24-23 lead in shots.
Brandon Perrone made 20 saves in his second career start for UAA.
Alaska Anchorage will host Minnesota State Jan. 31-Feb. 1.
