Gilson signs with Seawolf hockey

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – University of Alaska Anchorage head coach Matt Shasby announced that William Gilson has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Seawolves program.

"Will Gilson is a well-rounded defenseman who plays in all situations," said head coach Matt Shasby. "We foresee him coming in next fall and being a huge contributor right away. The more we watched Will and got to know him, we felt he would be a perfect fit for what we are trying to accomplish."

Gilson, a 6-0, 170 lbs. defenseman from Stamford, Conn., has played in 119 games tallying 42 points (9 goals, 33 assists) during his four-year career. He played for the Boston Jr. Bruins (NCDC) in 2019-20 appearing in 46 games and recording 15 points (4 goals, 11 assists). He tallied 15 points (1 goal, 14 assists) in 2020-21 splitting the season between the Boston Jr. Bruins and the New Jersey Rockets (NCDC). He is currently playing for the Aberdeen Wings (NAHL) and has 12 points (4 goals, 8 assists) in 31 games this season, second amongst defensemen on the team.
