Hockey signs two from Kenai Brown Bears

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – Alaska Anchorage head coach Matt Shasby announced that Dylan Contreras and Bryant Marks signed National Letters of Intent to join the Seawolves.

Contreras, a forward from Yorba Linda, Calif., has tallied 92 points (24 goals, 68 assists) in 152 games during his three-year junior career. Contreras currently leads the Kenai River Brown Bears in assists with 24 and is tied for the team lead with 35 points. He spent the previous two seasons with the Corpus Christi IceRays recording 57 points (13 goals, 44 assists) in 11 games.

"Dylan will bring a ton of speed and skill to our forward group," said head coach Matt Shasby. "He plays with a lot of confidence when he has the puck which will help us increase our offensive production."

Marks, a goalie from Wasilla, has posted a 3.41 goals against average and a .900 save percentage in 66 games during his three-year junior career. He played two seasons (2021-23) for the Kenai River Brown Bears posting a 3.79 GAA and .891 save percentage in 2021-22 and a 3.14 GAA and .907 save percentage in 2022-23. Marks started the 2023-24 season with the Corpus Christi IceRays posting a 3.31 save percentage and a .902 save percentage before rejoining the Kenai River Brown Bears.

"We are excited to be adding another Alaska student-athlete and this time in net," said Shasby. "Bryant plays an athletic style that combined with his competitive nature has allowed him to be successful at the junior level and will be a great asset to our team."
