ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – The University of Alaska Anchorage had 12 student-athletes earn At-Large Academic All-Region honors from the College Sports Communicators.
The ski team had 10 student-athletes earn the honor; Moro Bamber (3.61 GPA, computer science), Ella Bromee (3.93 GPA, management), Tuva Bygrave (4.0 GPA, management), Caeden Carruthers (4.0 GPA, management), Beth Granstrom (4.0 GPA, biology), Carmen Nielssen (4.0 GPA, finance), Leon Nikic (3.77 GPA, psychology), Ainsley Proffit (3.97 GPA, dietetics), Matt Seline (3.72 GPA, health sciences) and Astrid Stav (3.50 GPA, social work).
Ben Almquist (3.86 GPA, finance) and Jared Whale (3.87 GPA, finance) from the hockey team also earned academic all-district honors.
To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore, have a 3.50 GPA and meet sport participation requirements.
