Jamilia Duffus excelled on vault and bars Sunday to lead the Alaska Anchorage gymnastics team to a 192.500 total at the UC Davis quad meet at University Credit Union Center.
The Seawolves also got strong scores from senior
Montana Fairbairn on all three of her events as the Canadian became the 14th gymnast in program history to earn 9.85 on higher on floor exercise.
UAA finished fourth place in the team standings behind California (196.950), UC Davis (194.375) and Cornell (193.500).
"I think we got through some of our opening-night jitters from Friday and showed tremendous improvement up and down the lineup," said UAA head coach
Marie-Sophie Boggasch. "We're encouraged to make progress today and excited to work on the details and impress our home fans next week in Anchorage."
Looking to improve on a 189.775 score from their opener at Sacramento State, the Seawolves showed consistency on all four apparatus, posting 48.225 on vault and beam, 48.125 on bars and 47.925 on floor.
In addition to her fourth-place 9.85 floor routine and a 9.65 on beam, Fairbairn led the Seawolves on vault with a 9.725.
A transfer from Talladega, Duffus earned a 9.675 on vault and bettered her freshman bars high with a 9.725 to lead the Seawolves.
Boyd, a freshman from Plymouth, Minn., scored a 9.675 on beam, a 9.65 on floor and a 9.625 on bars to improve her all-around total from night one, while William & Mary transfer
Grace Costello posted 9.65 on vault, 9.725 on beam and 9.525 on floor.
