Hockey hits the road

Alaska Anchorage will play its first road games of the season when it travels to Minnesota for a two-game series at St. Cloud State. This weekend will be the first of 10-straight road games for UAA.   

Series
Alaska Anchorage trails the all-time series with St. Cloud State 17-53-6, and has a 4-33-4 record against the Huskies in St. Cloud. This weekend will be the first meeting between the Seawolves and Huskies since Oct. 10, 2025 when St Cloud State won 6-2 in Anchorage. 

Coach Shasby
Head coach Matt Shasby enters his fourth season leading the Seawolves. The Anchorage, native has a 29-61-8 mark as the UAA bench boss. 
Chris Kamal and Aaron McPheters return as assistant coaches for the Seawolves, while Anchorage native Evan Trupp has joined the staff as an assistant coach.  

First Points
Freshmen Oren Shtrom and Judah Makway recorded their first career points for the Seawolves in the season-opener against Bemidji State. Makway recorded an assist on the goal by Shtrom at 12:27 of the third period. 

Points
Sophomore Ethan Warrener scored his third career goal for Alaska Anchorage in the season opener against Bemidji State. The Calgary, Alberta, native has three points (two goals, one assist) in his collegiate career. 
Junior Karter McNarland and sophomore Ryan Johnson each recorded assists on the goal for their points of the season. McNarland has 15 career points (five goals, 10 assists), and Johnson has 26 points (11 goals, 15 assists). 

Point Streak
Sophomore Ryan Johnson extended his point streak to 11-games with an assist in the first game against Bemidji State before having his streak end in game two. He scored two goals and 11 assists during the streak that started on Jan. 11th against Niagara. 

Goalies
UAA has had all three goalies see action this season. Greg Orosz started game one against Bemidji State making 13 saves on 17 shots. Tyler Krivtsov nine saves on 14 shots in 33:07 of relief work. Bryant Marks started game two making 32 saves on 37 shots. 

Last Time Out
Alaska Anchorage dropped both games against Bemidji State in the season-opening series on Oct. 3-4.   

Looking Ahead
Alaska Anchorage will stay on the road and head to Colorado for a two-game series against Denver.
