Hockey hosts mid-week tilt

Alaska Anchorage will host Maryville in an exhibition game Wednesday before taking a break for the holidays. 

Series
This will be the first meeting between Alaska Anchorage and Maryville. 

Coach Shasby
Head coach Matt Shasby enters his fourth season leading the Seawolves. The Anchorage, native has a 32-68-8 mark as the UAA bench boss. 
Chris Kamal and Aaron McPheters return as assistant coaches for the Seawolves, while Anchorage native Evan Trupp has joined the staff as an assistant coach.  

Multi-Point Game
Joey Potter and Ryan Johnson each tallied two points in the first game against Stonehill. Potter scored the team's first goal against the Skyhawk's and assisted on the second goal by Conor Cole. Ryan Johnson finished with an assist on both UAA goals. 
Ryan Johnson is tied for the team lead with eight points (one goal, seven assists), and Joey Potter is third with seven points (three goals, four assists). 

Point Streak
Joey Potter finished with three points (one goal, two assists) in the series with Stonehill. He has four points (one goal, three assists) in his last four games for the Seawolves. 
Conor Cole scored a goal in both games against Stonehill. He is tied for fourth on the team with six points (three goals, three assists). 

First Goal
Luke Johnson scored his first career goal for the Seawolves with a goal in the second game against the Skyhawks. He has 10 points (four goals, six assists) in 75 games during his college career that includes stops at Minnesota Duluth and Alaska Fairbanks. 

First Point
Adam Parsons recorded his first point of the season with an assist on Tye Spencer's goal Saturday against Stonehill. He has three points (one goal, two assists) in 28 career games. 

Penalty Kill
UAA is 3-5-0 this season when it holds its opponent scoreless on the powerplay and 0-6-0 when they allow a power-play goal. 

Last Time Out
Alaska Anchorage dropped a two-game series to Stonehill last weekend dropping the first game 3-2 and the second game 4-3 in overtime.

Alaska Anchorage will open the New Year at the Desert Hockey Classic hosted by Arizona State Jan. 2-3. Alaska Anchorage will face Arizona State Jan. 2 and either Michigan Tech or Air Force Jan. 3.
