ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – University of Alaska Anchorage sophomore Joshua Caleb earned Academic All-American Second Team honors from the College Sports Communicators.
He becomes the 56th Seawolf, and 15th track and field athlete, to earn Academic All-American accolades.
Caleb posted a banner year on the track earning All-American honors after finishing fourth in the 60 and sixth in the 200 at the NCAA Div. II Indoor Track and Field Championships. The native of Okrika, Nigeria was named the GNAC Men's Track Athlete of the Meet in both indoor and outdoor track and won five GNAC titles this season. He ran 6.57 in the 60 to set a new African U-20 record, GNAC record and school record, ran 20.82 in the 200, setting new school and GNAC records and ranks second all-time on the Nigerian U-20 list and seventh all-time by a Nigerian and ran 47.22 in the 400, setting Nigerian U-20, GNAC and school records.
