ANCHORAGE (Aug. 19) – The Alaska Anchorage gymnastics program will welcome six newcomers for the 2026 season as head coach
Marie-Sophie Boggasch unveiled her team's roster for the upcoming campaign Tuesday.
All of the Seawolves' newcomers are incoming freshmen, including a pair of local products from Anchorage and Wasilla.
2026 UAA Gymnastics Newcomers
Kyli Cole
Wasilla, Alaska (Mat-Su Career & Tech HS / Denali Gymnastics)
Cole competed at Level 10 for Denali Gymnastics as a high school senior in 2025, earning titles on floor, beam and vault at the Alaska State Championships. She also won team titles at both the Denali Cup and Frontier Challenge. Cole competed at L9 from 2021-24, sweeping all five titles at the 2024 Alaska State Championships.
Coach Boggasch says: "Kyli is one of our own, coming to us from Wasilla, and we're proud to add another talented Alaskan to the Seawolf family. She's a well-rounded athlete with strong performances especially on beam and floor. Her presence will mean a lot to our program and our statewide supporters."
Madison Jordan
Anchorage, Alaska (Dimond HS / Anchorage Gymnastics Association)
Jordan competed at Level 9 over her final two high school seasons for Anchorage Gymnastics Association, registering top-5 placements on all four events and all-around at the 2025 Alaska State Championships. She swept all five titles in the Senior 16+ division at the 2025 Golden Heart Invitational, and won all-around at the 2025 Denali Cup.
Coach Boggasch says: "Madison is a standout from right here in Anchorage, and we're so excited to keep her talent close to home. Her work ethic will perfectly fit into our team atmosphere. She's a rising gymnast with tremendous potential, and we know our fans will enjoy following her collegiate journey."
Alexandra Karkowski
Mount Prospect, Illinois (Prospect HS / IK Gymnastics)
Karkowski competed for IK Gymnastics at Level 10 for her final three high school seasons, qualifying each year for the Region 5 Championships. She was fifth on beam and seventh on floor at 2025 regionals, and won beam and tied for fifth on floor in the Senior B division at the 2025 Illinois State Championships. Karkowski also earned wins on beam at both the Salto National Invitational and Brestyans Las Vegas Invitational as a senior.
Coach Boggasch says: "Alexandra is an incredibly artistic all-arounder with a style that's both elegant and memorable. Her beam routines are especially unique. Alex's creativity and passion for performance shine through in everything she does, making her a joy to watch, and we believe our fans will love seeing her bring that originality to the NCAA stage."
Becca Mitchell
Port Moody, British Columbia (Heritage Woods Secondary / Langley Gymnastics Club)
Mitchell has trained with Langley Gymnastics Club in British Columbia, while representing Demark on the international stage. She totaled a 2025 season-best all-around score (international scale) of 44.250 at the International Gymnix meet, and competed at the 2025 European Championships, scoring a season-best 12.266 on vault. Mitchell earned gold on vault and floor (12.733) and all-around (47.332) at the 2024 Danish Championships, while helping her squad to medals on beam, floor and all-around at the 2024 Danish Team Championships.
Coach Boggasch says: "Becca adds an exciting international element to this class with her Canadian background and Danish roots. She competes with poise and confidence, and brings an energy that elevates those around her. Her experience on the big stage, such as her most recent showing at the European Championships, will be a strong asset for us."
Tessa Richardson
Port Ludlow, Washington (Chimacum HS / Cascade Elite West)
Richardson competed at Level 10 as a high school junior and senior for Cascade Elite West, qualifying for the 2025 Women's Development Program Nationals. She finished fifth on vault and bars at the 2025 Washington Development State Championships, and she won all-around and bars and placed runner-up on floor and vault at the 2025 Freedom Invitational.
Coach Boggasch says: "Tessa is a dynamic all-arounder who brings incredible power and presence to her gymnastics, especially on vault. Tessa made impressive strides in her final club season, and her steep trajectory speaks volumes about her as a competitor. We're excited for the drive and grit she'll bring to the Seawolf lineup."
Hannah Rojo
Austin, Texas (Austin HS / Crenshaw Gymnastics)
Rojo competed at Level 10 for four years, qualifying for the Region 3 Championships three times. The Texan tied for seventh on beam in the Senior E division at 2025 regionals, and placed top-5 on bars, floor, beam and all-around in her division at the 2025 Texas State Championships. Rojo earned a career-best all-around of 37.600 to place fourth at the 2025 Yellow Rose Invitational.
Coach Boggasch says: "Hannah is a polished and detail-oriented athlete with a beautiful style of gymnastics. Her bars are especially strong, showing clean lines and impressive swing. Her consistency, combined with her kindness and steadfastness, will bring both quality and depth to our program."
