ANCHORAGE (June 25) – The Alaska Anchorage men's basketball team has added more Texas talent to its roster as head coach Cameron Turner announced Thursday that former Dallas Metroplex prep star
RJ Foreman has signed a scholarship agreement to play for the Seawolves.
A 6-7, 220-pound forward, Foreman is coming off a solid sophomore campaign at Lamar Community College in Colorado, where he helped the Lopes to the NJCAA Region 9 title game for just the second time in program history. The Leonard, Texas, native averaged 11.4 points and led his team with 5.8 rebounds per game, scoring double figures 20 times and registering five double-doubles. Among his big efforts, he had 31 points in a 98-96 road loss to South Plains, 22 points and 10 rebounds in a win over North Platte, and 12 points and 11 rebounds in a win over eventual Region 9 champ Trinidad State.
"RJ comes highly regarded after an outstanding season and brings a unique combination of skill, strength, power and basketball IQ," Turner said. "His versatility immediately stood out – much like Draymond Green, he impacts the game in a variety of ways and creates matchup problems on both ends of the floor. He can stretch defenses on the perimeter while also punishing opponents in the post with his physicality and toughness. His feel for the game, unselfishness and competitive nature make him a perfect fit for the Seawolf culture."
Foreman spent his first two collegiate seasons at JC program McLennan (Texas) College, where he played alongside fellow UAA signee
Joseph Mayberry. He played in six games as a true freshman in 2023-24 before being sidelined by injury, and took a redshirt season in 2024-25.
As a high school senior, Foreman suited up for DeSoto High School in one of the toughest public-school leagues in the nation. He was a First Team All-District 11-6A honoree at DeSoto, earning MVP honors at both the Forney Winter Classic and Big Shot Prep tournaments. Prior to transferring, he led Spring Creek Academy to the 2022 Southwest Athletic Interscholastic Conference title and the 2021 National Christian Home School 4A Division national title, also earning MVP honors.
Foreman is the eighth player – and fourth Texan – to sign since Turner assumed coaching duties this spring, joining
