KANSAS CITY, Mo. (July 16) – Eight Alaska Anchorage players were honored this week as the National Association of Basketball Coaches announced its 2025-26 NABC Honors Court list for outstanding academic performance.

The Seawolves' eight selections were the most of any Great Northwest Athletic Conference team, led by seniors Hasaan Herrington (journalism & public communications), Zach Ibbetson and Jesse Stines (business). Jeremiah Coleman (JPC), Luke Johnston (kinesiology), Lyman Simmons (kinesiology) and Sylas Williams (business) also earned the award, presented to players with junior or senior academic standing and a minimum 3.20 overall grade point average.

In addition to the individual awards, UAA was also recognized among the approximately 400 institutional recipients of the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award for program's that maintain a 3.00-plus combined GPA.
