Falcons bounce Seawolves in Florida

BOCA RATON, Fla. (Dec. 29) - Senior center Bell Jordan scored a game-high 19 points, but it wasn't enough to pull the upset as the UAA women's basketball team fell 92-63 to 12th-ranked Bentley College at the Lynn Holiday Inn Shootout.


Jordan shot 7-for-11 from the field, but the rest of the Seawolves (3-7) combined to shoot only 14-for-47. Bentley (7-2) shot 62.1 percent, led by Keri Flynn's 6-for-9, 18-point showing.


Junior guard Laura Taborsky chipped in with 12 points for UAA, while freshman guard Jessica Reilly dished five assists and grabbed two steals.


The Falcons shot 22-for-33 in the first half as they built a 52-33 advantage.


Freshman forward Jen Stoddard led UAA with six rebounds.


The Seawolves play Mercy (N.Y.) College for third place Sunday at 11 a.m. AST. Mercy was a 61-27 loser to host Lynn in the other first-round game.
