HONOLULU (Feb. 10) - Ed Kirk tallied 20 points to lead a parade of double-digit scorers as the University of Alaska Anchorage men's basketball team bounced back for a 90-79 victory over host Hawaii Pacific at the Neal Blaisdell Center tonight.
The win gave UAA (14-7, 8-4 Pac West) a small measure of revenge after HPU (9-13, 4-9) won Friday night.
Five other Seawolves cracked double-digits in scoring - Taylor Wagner (15), Greg Freeman (14), Nathon Glover (13), Cody Gallatin (12) and Peter Bullock (10) - as the Seawolves shot an impressive 55 percent from the floor.
UAA led 46-45 at the half and started the second stanza with a 27-9 burst that resulted in a 73-54 advantage with 10:24 remaining.
The win snapped a five-game losing streak in the Islands dating back to midway through the 1998-99 season.
Nick Spajic led the way for the Sea Warriors with 26 points on 10-of-12 shooting.
UAA finishes its three-game trek Monday night at BYU-Hawaii.
