Dixie stops UAA in Idaho

NAMPA, Idaho -- Brenda Cooper led a balanced Seawolf offense with 10 kills, but it wasn't enough Friday as Dixie State recorded a 30-16, 30-22, 23-30, 30-17 non-conference volleyball victory at the Johnson Sports Complex.

Senior Chelsey Jones had nine kills and five total blocks for UAA (5-14), which had its brief 2-match win streak stopped. Dixie State (12-9) was led by a match-high 20 kills from Cidney Judkins as the Utah team posted a .309 attack percentage.

Heather Lyons also had nine kills in the losing effort, while senior libero Rachael Knecht tallied a match-high 14 digs. Sophomore Jessica Morehouse had six kills and three block assists for UAA in the neutral-court match.

Friday's meeting was the first ever between the Seawolves and Rebels, who are transitioning to NCAA Division II status this season.

UAA is back in action here again Saturday when they take on Northwest Nazarene in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference match (5 p.m. ADT).
