DULUTH, Minn. – The No. 5/6 Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs
delivered a 6-0 shutout 0f the Alaska Anchorage Seawolves in a Western
Collegiate Hockey Association game at the Duluth Entertainment and Convention
Center on Saturday night.
The Bulldogs (5-0-1, 2-0-0 WCHA) got out to an early 1-0
lead in the first minute of play and never looked back. They tallied two more
goals in the second frame and three in the third, including a shorthanded goal.
Travis Oleksuk and Dan DeLisie each recorded a pair of goals
for the Bulldogs in front of 5,481 fans. Oleksuk netted the game winner and a shorthanded goal in the
third period. Other UMD goals were scored by Justin Fontaine and Kyle Schmidt.
UMD's rookie goaltender Aaron Crandall (2-0-0, 26 saves)
received the win and his first collegiate shutout in just his second game
between the pipes. Seawolves freshman goaltender Chris Kamal (0-2-1) made
21 stops for the Green & Gold in the loss.

(1-4-1, 0-2-0), who were handed their first shutout since Nov. 27, 2009 against
Colorado College (5-0), allowed one power-play tally in two UMD attempts. UAA
was unsuccessful in five man-advantage opportunities.
For the third straight game, UAA was only tagged for three
penalties and served just six minutes in the box. UMD was 7-for-25 in penalties
after Mike Seidel received a 5-minute major for contact to the head on UAA
junior defenseman Brad Gorham and a 10-minute game misconduct at 7:32 of the
third.
The Bulldogs registered a slight lead in shots over the
Seawolves, 27-26.
The Seawolves will return to the Sullivan Arena on Oct.
29-30 to face Minnesota State in a WCHA series. The puck is scheduled to drop at
7:07 p.m. ADT both evenings.
