UAA post four top-10 finishes at MSU

BIG SKY & BOZEMAN, Mont. – Paced by a third-place result from sophomore Andreas Adde in the slalom, the Alaska Anchorage Seawolves posted four top-10 results for a fifth-place team finish at the Montana State Invitational on Sunday.

Following the completion of all eight events, the Seawolves combined for 658 points; good for fifth in the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association meet. Colorado came away with the team title with 921 points, followed by Utah (912) and New Mexico (7 86) in second and third, respectively.

The 2010 NCAA Slalom Champion, Adde picked up his second top-three finish of the season with a two-run time of one minute, 28.08 seconds. UNM's Petter Brenna took the slalom title with a time of 1:27.64. Also scoring for the UAA men's Alpine team were juniors Cameron Brewington (24th, 1:30.27) and Halfdan Falkum-Hansen (26th, 1:31.50).

The women's Nordic squad led the Seawolves for the second straight day with a team-high 105 points in the 15K classical race. Leading the way was junior Laura Rombach in fourth place with a time of 51:06.6. Finishing in the top 10 was junior Steffi Hiemer (51:28.3) in eighth, just edging out classmate and All-American Jaime Bronga (51:31.8), who finished in ninth.

Leading the Seawolves in the men's 20K classic was rookie Lukas Ebner (1:05:00.3), while All-American Alex Parker (1:38.36) led the women's Alpine team in the slalom. Both finished in 19th place.

The UAA Nordic team will compete in its portion of the Utah Invite on Jan. 21-22 in Soldier Hollow, Utah, before joining the Alpine team for the New Mexico Invite on Feb. 4-5 in Red River, NM.
