UAA hosts ski events

The Alaska Anchorage ski team will host a pair of events Feb. 17-24. The Nordic events will be held at both Kincaid Park in Anchorage and Government Peak in Palmer. The alpine events will be contested at Alyeska Resort in Girdwood, Alaska. A complete schedule is located on page two. This year will mark the third time (2015, 2002) that UAA has hosted the RMISA/NCAA Regional Championships.
UAA at RMISA Championships
UAA has finished sixth at the last seven RMISA Championships. The Seawolves have had 11 skiers win RMISA Individual titles. Sean Alexander won the last Alpine title when he won the giant slalom in 2016. On the Nordic side, Lukas Ebner won the classic race in 2011. 
RMISA MVP
Six Seawolves have been named the RMISA Most Valuable skier with the last being Lukas Ebner in 2014. 
Top-10
The Seawolves posted a pair of top-10 finishes at the New Mexico Invite. Sigurd Roenning placed second in the classic race and Anna Darnell was seventh in the freestyle. 
Top-10 Part Two
The alpine ski team has posted seven top-10 finishes this season. Sky Kelsey was the last Seawolf to post a top-10 finish when he placed third in the giant slalom at the Montana State Invite. 
Top-20
The UAA women all finished in the top-20 in both Nordic events at the New Mexico Invite. 
Looking Ahead
Alaska Anchorage will compete at the NCAA Championships in Burlington, Vermont March 6-9.
