ANCHORAGE – With the season just around the corner, Alaska Anchorage men's basketball head coach
Rusty Osborne has finalized his team's 2021-22 roster with the addition of in-state standout
Luke Devine.
A 6-5, 205-pound forward, Devine was a First Team All-Northern Lights Conference and AABC Third Team All-State selection as a senior at Wasilla High School in 2019-20. The younger brother of former Seawolf men's and women's standouts Connor and Alysha Devine, he also helped lead Wasilla to an ASAA 4A state title as a sophomore in 2018.
"We are delighted that Luke has decided to transfer back and join our program," said Osborne. "He had a very successful high school career both individually and team-wise at Wasilla. We had spoken with him in high school but respected his decision to leave home for a while. He will have some adjustment period as he returns to organized basketball, but we know he is going to be a tremendous teammate and bring a ton of energy every day. We are excited to watch his growth over the next four years and expect he will be a contributor down the line."
Devine will have freshman eligibility after attending Grand Canyon University but not playing basketball in 2020-21.
He gives the Seawolves four Alaskans on their 2021-22 roster, joining Anchorage natives
Evan Hoosier (Dimond),
Tobin Karlberg (Grace Christian) and
Isaiah Moses (Dimond).
