BOZEMAN, MONT. – The University of Alaska Anchorage had four skiers finish in the top-10 in the 15-kilometer classic at the Montana State Invite today.
Astrid Stav led the Seawolves with a sixth-place finish in the women's race in 52:36.
Tuva Bygrave finished one spot and five seconds later.
Pascale Paradis finished 14th in 55:36.
Ari Endestad posted his highest RMISA finish crossing the line in seventh (43:02).
Magnus Noroey placed 10th (44:17), and Matt Seline continued to impress with a 13th place (45:07) showing.
Peter Hinds was 15th (45:32), and Sigurd Roenning was 22nd (47:58).
"We had a pretty good day today!" said associate head coach Trond Flagstad. "We are better than at US Nationals, and I think we will keep improving as the season goes on. The men were solid with a nice seventh place for Ari and a top-10 for Magnus, which is great for him in classic. Our freshman Matt showed his potential with a solid 13th place.
"I am happy to see Astrid and Tuva skiing strong and close to where they belong in this field. Pascale was not too happy with her race, but she did give it all she had today, and that's all that we can ask.
"The overall team effort was the highlight of the day, we are sitting in second and are fired up about tomorrow."
The Seawolves are currently in second place in the team standings with 136 points. Utah leads with 199 points.
Mike Ophoff of Alaska Fairbanks won the men's race (41:17), and Novie McCabe of Utah (47:53) won the women's race.
The MSU Invite will continue with the freestyle races Saturday.
